A National School District of Character
Pennsbury's district-wide art show will take place May 21, 22, and 23 in the PHS East gym. PA State Senator Steve Santarsiero congratulated inductees in the William Penn Middle School chapter of the National Junior Honor Society. Congratulations to these high school recipients of the 2019 "Keeping the Peace" award in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.! Pennsbury's chapter of the National Honor Society inducted new officers (front row) as they bid farewell to the outgoing board (back). The 2019 Pennsbury High School Prom Committee students and volunteer parents are hard at work with Senior Prom preparations. Murals, 3D decorations, and many surprises are in store for the June 1st event at PHS East Students in Mrs. Mitsos' Kindergarten class presented an Owl Show for their families at Quarry Hill Elementary School. The newly-dedicated Vic Napolitano baseball field - named for the long-time Pennsbury baseball coach - was celebrated on April 6th with (l-r) Coach Joe Pesci, members of Coach Napolitano's family, and Superintendent Dr. William Gretzula. STEM design teams from Afton, Eleanor Roosevelt, Edgewood, Makefield, Manor, Penn Valley, Quarry Hill, and Walt Disney elementary schools competed at the BCIU #22 in early March. Edgewood Elementary students raised over $5,000 with their "Mini but Mighty THON" event to support the Pennsbury High School Mini THON scheduled for February 23rd. About 200 Pennsbury elementary students gathered in service to the community in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.  Thanks to our school community for all of donated items that were sorted by the students for five area recipient groups. Judges listened intently as William Penn Middle School eighth graders demonstrated their enviro-friendly amusement rides during the K'nex STEM Design Challenge. Oxford Valley Elementary fourth graders are thrilled to be pen pals with residents who live at the Arden Courts of Yardley senior home.
