The Pennsbury Scholarship Foundation

- Still Shining at Sixty -

The Pennsbury Scholarship Foundation recently celebrated our 60th anniversary with a Diamond Jubilee banquet at the Sheraton Bucks County Hotel. The evening included recognition of the many volunteers who have helped the PSF grow over the past six decades, including current and past directors, presidents, school board members and Pennsbury superintendents.

Chris Lehmann, a 1989 graduate of Pennsbury High School and a recipient of a foundation scholarship, gave the keynote address. Mr. Lehmann is the founding principal of the Science Leadership Academy High School, a pioneering science and technology magnet high school in Philadelphia established in partnership with the School District of Philadelphia and the Franklin Institute. He spoke about the influence Pennsbury teachers had on him, and how it has influenced the goals and mission of the SLA.

Commendations honoring the PSF's accomplishments were received from the Bucks County Commissioners, Falls Township, Lower Makefield Township, Yardley and Tullytown boroughs, the state House of Representatives, the Pennsylvania Senate, the U.S. House of Representatives and Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf.
