**IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT FOR GRADUATING SENIORS**
Information from Herff Jones regarding Graduation Announcements will be going home with seniors on February 3rd. Representatives from Herff Jones will be taking orders during all lunches on Thursday, February 9th at West and then on Friday, February 10th at East.
Dates and Times
The rehearsal and graduation for the Class of 2017 will be as follows:
(On rain date – students report by 4:30 pm)
- Rehearsal is Friday, June 9th 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm.
- Graduation is Monday, June 12th at 5:45 pm at Falcon Field. The event is 1.5 – 2 hours in length.
- The Rain Date for graduation is Tuesday, June 13th starting at 5:45 pm at Falcon Field. The ceremony will only be moved in the event of heavy rain, thunder or lightning.
- On the evening of commencement, students are to report to their assembly areas between 4:30 pm and 4:45 pm. PLEASE DO NOT BE LATE. The ceremony will begin promptly at 5:45 pm.
The graduation ceremony is a dignified and solemn event and we need cooperation from all to continue with this excellent tradition. We’re proud of Pennsbury and would like to have the ceremony as positive and dignified as possible. PLEASE NOTE that any student who chooses to be disruptive at graduation will find that his or her diploma has been withheld.
Although participation in the commencement exercises is voluntary, students who decide to participate will be expected to dress properly for the occasion. Attire for young men is shirts, ties, and long trousers. Young ladies should wear a dress, slacks or a skirt with a blouse. All should wear appropriate footwear. NO shorts or sneakers may be worn. Students inappropriately dressed will not be permitted to participate in the ceremony.
Caps and Gowns will be distributed the day of rehearsal. The rental fee of $20.00 was due as of January. PLEASE NOTE that unpaid rentals become an obligation and your diploma will be held.
Obligations should be paid as soon as possible at the East or West main office. If a senior has not paid an obligation prior to rehearsal, he or she may do so in the East main office immediately after the rehearsal. PLEASE NOTE that diplomas will be withheld until all obligations are paid.
Rehearsal for Commencement
Rehearsal will be held on Friday, June 9th at 1:00 pm regardless of weather conditions. NO TRANSPORTATION TO REHEARSAL will be provided. All graduates are to report to their assembly areas by 12:45 pm. Students seated on the HOME side should report to the East cafeteria and students seated on the VISITOR’s side should report to the East auditorium. Assembly area, room number and row number will be posted so that you will know where to report and where to sit. You will report to your assembly area before rehearsal and before graduation. You will report to your room assignment at the end of rehearsal and the end of graduation. The sooner we start, the sooner we end. PLEASE NOTE that ATTENDANCE at rehearsal is MANDATORY for participation in commencement.
Parking and traffic patterns have been arranged to provide for maximum efficiency. Graduates should enter the main drive and park on the gym side of the building. Cars dropping off graduates should enter the main drive and use the drive in front of the building. Guests may park in the parking lot on the gym side of the Pennsbury High School East Building and in Pennsbury High School West Building and Village Park parking lots. Uniformed police will be on duty to assist drivers and a number of Pennsbury Juniors will assist the police in parking cars.
- Handicapped Parking- Handicapped parking will be available on a first come first serve basis with your motor vehicle issued handicap parking plaque or license plate.
Tickets are not issued. It is suggested that each family limit their attendance to 6 individuals. Please note that general seating is available. Questions regarding which side of the stadium to sit on should be directed to your child after graduation rehearsal.
Handicapped seating will be available. Seating will be provided for the handicapped individual and 1 other person in their party only. No special tickets are required.
Pictures may be taken from the stands. Photographers may not enter the field area.
