Absences and School Closing Policy

Since daily attendance is crucial to continued education progress, excessive tardiness should be avoided, and absence should be limited to personal illness or emergency.   Whenever possible, parents should schedule health appointments or other activities outside school day hours.

If you are planning a trip or vacation during the school year which requires children to miss an extended period of time, please file a Request for Excused Absence form with the school so as to avoid a conflict with the State Attendance Laws.   Forms are available in the office upon request and must be submitted 10 days prior to the trip. Days not previously approved by the office will be marked as unlawfully absent and the attendance office will be notified.

EARLY PICK-UP

In the event that your child must leave school prior to the scheduled end of the day, please notify your child’s teacher in writing. All children must be picked up and signed out at the school office.
