Mrs. Jennifer Dillon

Supporting the curriculum of the classroom as well as providing research skills are the major goals of the Pennsbury library curriculum. The library curriculum also supports the Pennsylvania State Standards for Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening.

Each child in first through fifth grades visits the library once in a five-day rotation for forty minutes. In addition to having a lesson, the student has the opportunity to select books independently. Kindergarten library classes are thirty minutes in length.

Throughout the school year, library lessons include literature appreciation, book care, exploration of various reference books, use of the computerized catalog, introduction to different genres of literature, learning about the Dewey Decimal System of Classification as well as research skills.

The biggest
On the library shelf
Is when you suddenly
Find yourself
Inside a book ---
(The hidden you)
You wonder how
The author knew.
