Planned Absence/Educational Travel
During Remote Learning students who would like to go on an educational trip should send an email to [email protected]. Please be sure to include the students first and last name, student ID, date the student will miss school and a brief description of the trip. All teachers will be notified via email and the time out will be coded in HAC.

Students Requesting a Planned Absence/Educational Trip
As per the Student Conduct Policy, parents/guardians may request permission to take one (1) educational trip per year not to exceed five (5) days. Days in excess will be considered unlawful and/or unexcused and notices may be issued. Only one educational trip will be approved each school year.
Parents/guardians requesting permission to take their student out of school for an educational trip must notify the attendance office by written request at least ten (10) days prior to the trip. You may send in a note or email [email protected]. Please do not call the school, all trip requests must be made in writing.
  • The student will be given a yellow card to present to all their teachers for signature.
  • The student needs to return the card to the attendance office after all signatures have been obtained.
  • Students are responsible for any missed work.
  • The approved trip will count towards the student’s total days absent as an excused absence, up to five (5) days per academic year.
  • Students who go on college visits must present confirmation of the visit in the form of a letter or printed email from the college(s). It is not necessary to request a Planned Absence/Education Trip form for college visits. If your student fails to bring a note to the Attendance Office within three (3) school days, they will receive an unexcused absence.
