Support Staff Positions

Requirements for employment in a support staff position include a high school diploma and current Act 34 and Act 151 clearances as well as FBI fingerprinting. Pennsbury employs support staff in a variety of positions that support the process of teaching and learning, including:


Aides provide lunch, playground and hallway supervision, provide clerical support for teachers, work as paraprofessionals with special education students, work in health suites, or work in a number of specialty positions. All positions are 10 month (school year) and range from 1.5 hours per day to 6.5 hours per day. Aide applicants must exhibit a sincere desire to work with children, and for paraprofessional positions, prior experience working with special needs students is preferred. Health room aide applicants must have current certifications in CPR for the Professional Rescuer and First Aid. Other specialized aide positions may have additional requirements.


Clerical staff provides secretarial services to all buildings and departments in the District. Positions are both 10 month and 12 month, and range from 4.0 hours per day to 8.0 hours per day. Clerical applicants must be able to type 50 words per minute, be familiar with the operation of computers (Microsoft Office experience preferred) and office equipment, and demonstrate exceptional "people" skills working with students, parents, staff, and the community-at-large. Specific positions may have additional requirements.


Positions in the custodial department include full time custodians and cleaners (day and evening shifts), and part time cleaners (evening shift). No prior experience is required for entry-level positions. Training is provided.


Maintenance positions include electricians, plumbing/heating mechanics, carpenters, grounds mechanics, and painters. Maintenance applicants must be licensed or hold appropriate certification in their trade.

Transportation – Bus/Van Drivers - Mechanics

The Transportation Department employs bus drivers, transportation aides (special education) and bus mechanics. To be considered for a bus driving position, you must have a clean driving record. No prior experience is required. Training classes to obtain a CDL and School Bus Endorsement are held periodically throughout the year.
