Transportation Policy

Anytime there is a change in the normal transportation arrangement for any child we must receive written notification. The child’s parent or guardian must make the request. Otherwise, the child will be sent home using their normal mode of transportation. ·

A student wishing to accompany another student home after school must have a parental note.

· The student with whom the child goes home must have a parental note, as well.

The notes must be presented to his/her teacher and approved by the office. If traveling by bus to which they are not assigned, the note will then be given to the school bus driver. Parents will assume responsibility for the child when such a request is granted.

There will be no exceptions to this policy.

Bus Riders

The Pennsbury School District provides transportation to and from school to all public and non-public school students who are within the guidelines outlined in the Parent Handbook and on the Pennsbury School District Website.

Parents of walking students are asked to time their children's departure so that they will arrive at school between 8:45 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. Except for inclement weather, students will not be allowed to enter classrooms prior to 8:45 a.m. Only kindergarteners may enter earlier.

Bicycle Riders

Bicycle riding is limited to walking students in third, fourth and fifth grades who have permission slips on file with their teachers. Helmets must be worn. The school cannot be responsible for the safety of bikes; therefore, bike locks should be used.

Car Riders All car riders, morning or afternoon, must utilize the Walton Drive side of the Eleanor Roosevelt building. Entering and exiting students are to use the center doorway only.
