Good evening Parents and Guardians,
We are beginning the process of course selection for the 2022-2023 school year. Home Access Center
will open for 8th grade students and parents to complete course selection for next school year beginning
December 2nd, 2021.

On the Course Selection webpage you will find important information and resources to assist in
completing the course selection process. Included in the resources on the Course Selection web page is
a link to the digital version of the 2022-2023 Program of Studies. In an effort to be more environmentally
friendly, the district will not be issuing printed copies of the Program of Studies.

PHS Course Selection Information and Resources

Please review the Course Selection/Curriculum Night Presentation and join us for a live Q&A on
Thursday, December 2, 2021 at 6pm: Course Selection Night: https://meet.google.com/ugb-szqz-kki
The waiting room will open at 5:55pm. Please note you must have a google account to join the meeting.
Current 8th graders will be able to access HAC after that presentation.

At the middle school, students will meet with their counselors individually throughout the months of
December and January. The purpose of these meetings will be to review and discuss their course
selections. Please encourage your child to be on the lookout for an email from their counselor, and to
also be prepared for the meeting when it occurs.
These meetings are meant for discussion about future
planning and taking the appropriate classes so they can be successful after high school.

Students will have access to make changes to their course selection in HAC until their meeting with their
counselor or until Monday, January 4th, whichever comes first.

The deadline for all course selection changes is Friday, April 29, 2022.

(any change requests made after January 31, 2022 are dependent upon course and seat availability.
Administration will run a wait list if a course is closed, but unfortunately there is no guarantee).
If you have specific questions regarding course selection for your child, please contact your child’s school
counselor. Please remember, any changes after your child’s meeting with his or her counselor MUST be
done through the course change policy process, and any changes are dependent upon available seats.

Thank you,
PHS Administration

Dear Boehm Families,
We would like to invite the parents of our Special Education and 504 students to a parent informational session. The purpose of this informational session is to highlight what our Special Education Program looks like at the middle school level. We will also review our 504 services that are provided at the middle school. We will hold this event on Wednesday, December 1st from 6:30-7:30. We will be using Google Meet to hold this virtual event. You can find the specific links listed in our Smore linked below. We ask that parents use their student's PSD login credentials. You can also simply click the link and we can admit you into the meeting. We will highlight our programs, supports, and offer suggestions about working with a middle school learner at home. We have built this event around the feedback we have received from many of our parents. If you are not able to attend we will post a video of the presentation in this newsletter after the event takes place. We hope you can join us during one of these sessions! Stay safe everyone!  Please click here for information.

Dear Boehm 6th-Grade Families,

The Charles Boehm Middle School conducts parent/teacher conferences after the first report period for the sixth grade. These informal meetings give teachers the opportunity to report directly to parents on their child’s progress in school. This also gives the parent the opportunity to share information about their child’s out-of-school likes and dislikes, habits and attitudes, interests, and hobbies. A greater understanding of children is an important ingredient in effective instruction.

This year conferences will be held during the afternoon and evening on Thursday, November 18th, and Friday morning, November 19th, until 11:15 am. Teachers will be scheduling conferences based on their F-Period class in order to offer a conference to every parent. We understand time limitations may not permit scheduling all parents on the designated conference days. Please work with your child's F-Period teacher, if you are unable to attend at the available times. Families will have the option of choosing an in-person conference or a virtual conference via Google Meets.  We hope you enjoy your child's 6th-grade Conference.
