Pennsbury School District Athletic Philosophy

The primary purpose of the athletic program in the Pennsbury School District is to promote the physical, social, emotional, and moral well-being of participants.  It is hoped that athletics in our school will be a positive force in preparing youth for an enriching and vital role in American life.

The athletic program is an important and integral part of the total school program and is open to participation; the athlete gives time, energy, and loyalty to the program.  They also accept the training rules, regulations, and responsibilities that are unique to an athletic program. In order to contribute to the welfare of the group, the athlete must willingly assume these obligations because the role demands that the individual make sacrifices not required of others.

Physicals

All participants in athletics must have a PIAA physical form completed by a doctor and parent dated after June 1, 2021. Any physical completed before June 1st is not acceptable. Only 1 physical is required for each school year.

Head Injury Presentation
Mandatory Concussion Awareness Program and Impact Testing

PA has passed new legislation that will be effective July 1, 2012 requiring all student-athletes to receive concussion and head injury information prior to the start of their season. Additionally, most student-athletes will also be tested using Impact. This will be a baseline test to be used if the athlete sustains a head injury during the season. We have partnered with St Mary Hospital to provide a video presentation and help administer the Impact testing.
