Start School "Write" Event a Success

The Pennsbury School District proudly hosted its 2nd annual Start School "Write" Event at Village Park School on August 26, 2024. This community-driven initiative, designed to support students and families as they prepare for the new school year, was a resounding success, drawing in families from across the district.

The Start School "Write" Event is part of Pennsbury School District’s ongoing commitment to ensuring that every student has the resources they need to succeed. This year’s event not only provided essential back-to-school supplies but also featured professional barbers and hairstylists who offered free haircuts to students. These services aim to help students start the year with confidence, looking and feeling their best as they head back to school.

Dr. Thomas Smith, Superintendent of Pennsbury School District, expressed his gratitude to the community and volunteers, saying, "The Start School 'Write' Event exemplifies the strong community spirit in Pennsbury. We are dedicated to supporting our students in every way possible, and this event ensures that every child has the opportunity to begin the school year prepared and confident."

The event was made possible through the generous support of Pennsbury Kids, a local non-profit organization, local businesses, and volunteers who donated supplies, time, and services. The Pennsbury School District extends its heartfelt thanks to all who contributed to the event’s success.

The Start School "Write" Event underscores the district’s mission to provide equitable educational opportunities and resources for all students. As Pennsbury continues to build a nurturing and supportive environment for its students, initiatives like these play a crucial role in fostering a strong sense of community and shared responsibility.
