  • The following provides an overview of how to obtain interpretation and translation (documents in a language other than English) support for families that speak a language other than English. If you have any questions or an emergency need, please contact the Pennsbury School District English Language Development Coordinator, Katie Duncan (kduncan@pennsburysd.org).

        • Welcoming the Stranger
          • Welcoming the Stranger is an educational non-profit that offers free classes in English as a Second Language (ESL), computer skills, and United States citizenship exam preparation to adult immigrants and refugees in the Philadelphia metro region. 

        • Vita Education Services
          • Vita Education Services offers free English as a Second Language (ESL) Programs for adults who wish to improve their English proficiency. Instruction is student-centered and contextualized. Students practice the four language skills of listening, speaking, reading, and writing to communicate in English for everyday situations in authentic contexts. These contexts include pre-employment and work situations, accessing community resources, achieving citizenship skills, and preparing for post-secondary training and education.

          • Offer adult, non-native English speakers the opportunity to improve their English skills.
